ABOUT ME
You often hear or read of those called to ministry that they “surrendered”, as if they have to give up in order to answer God’s call on their life. Well, for anyone who knows Cynthia Pitts knows she doesn’t give up but instead advances toward the ministry call on her life. She accepted the call of ministry in 2008 after spending many years following the lead of the prophet Ezra “…devoting [her]self to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws…” Ezra 7:10.
So as Cynthia “studied and observed,” she is now teaching and working with people in a powerful prayer ministry devoted to edifying, equipping and encouraging God’s people.
EXPERIENCE
Cynthia Pitts is a native of Clarksville Tennessee. She answered the call to full-time ministry in 2008 and since that time she has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology, and completed the Christian Healing Certification Program through Global Awakening Ministries. Licensed and ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 2014.
Cynthia is also involved in many civic and community activities including serving on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the Sexual Assault Center, Nashville and is chairman of the Advisory Board for the Clarksville location, Board of Directors for the Hope Pregnancy Center, Leadership CMCSS (Clarksville-Montgomery County School System) Class of 2012-13, and served on the Board of Directors for the Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, Nashville, where she was named chairman of the Board for 2013-14.
Cynthia is an active volunteer in her community. She serves as Chaplain at the Tennessee State Veterans Home, serving alongside her husband, State Representative Joe Pitts, a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives. As they travel across the state of Tennessee and serve their beloved state, brokenness and hopelessness is discovered often in many that they meet. God has shown them He wants Cynthia and Joe to walk in places where He needs His gospel preached, though not in the traditional church pulpit setting.
Cynthia and her husband, Joe, believe politics and public service have become their mission field by showing the people the love of Christ where Christ isn’t always seen. We are called to love and live a different way. She is a mother, grandmother of eight beautiful grandchildren, and a published author and accomplished speaker. She desires to serve God in every way, every day.
