What is
God’s name?

To begin with, God is referred to by a number of names in the Bible—not just a single name. By some counts there are more than 20 different names for God mentioned in the Bible. And each of these names has great significance. Each one tells us something important about God—His character His nature, character, attributes, attitudes—His very being? God refers to Himself by many different names in the Bible, and with each name we learn more about Him.

Healing

God is Jehovah-Rapha (The Lord Who Heals You)

Exodus 15:26(KJV)

“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee”.

Jehovah is actually YHWH (see Yahweh above) and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Rapha means to heal or make healthful. Together Jehovah Rapha means The Lord Who Heals You. God is the Great Physician who heals his people. This truth in God’s name applies equally to emotional, psychological, and physical healing as well as to nations and individuals alike.

"The Lord Who Heals" (Exodus 15:26) –
“I am Jehovah who heals you”

both in body and soul.

In body, by preserving from and curing diseases, and in soul, by pardoning iniquitie; God alone provides the remedy for mankind’s brokenness through His son, Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the physical, moral, and spiritual remedy for all people. The LORD That Healeth Does Jesus heal? Yes! He is the Almighty Lord, our healer. He can heal instantaneously by a miracle. He can heal over time through medicine. One day our bodies will be redeemed. The redemption of the body is going to come at the rapture of the church and the resurrection of the Christian dead. It is at that time that we will be made like unto Him. There is no sickness in the Lord's body and there will be no sickness in our resurrection body. If you are not healed in this life, child of God, you will be healed in eternity. Today we are standing on the Word of God by faith? What does that mean to stand by faith for our healing? It’s speaking God’s Word over our life ever day by faith taking God’s Word on healing applying it to our life by faith. To live in this life by faith is taking this mustard seed of faith planting it into the ground of our life by faith speaking forth healing scripture’s over our life. We won’t look at our bodies all we will focuse on is God and his word.

In Ps. 6:2; “Have mercy upon me O Lord for I am weak;
O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed”.

The meaning of the word vexed: annoyed, frustrated, or worried. "I'm very vexed with you!" synonyms: annoyed, irritated, cross, angry, infuriated, exasperated, irked, piqued, nettled, displeased, put out, disgruntled; peeved, miffed, hacked off, hot under the collar, teed off, ticked off, sore, bent out of shape; "these are vexed expression"

Psalm 41:4 (NIV)

“I said, “Have mercy on me, Lord; heal me, for I have sinned against you.”

Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”. Isaiah 57:18-19 (NIV) “I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners, creating praise on their lips. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the Lord. “And I will heal them.”

Jeremiah 17:14 (NIV)

“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise”. Matthew 10:1 (NIV) Jesus Sends Out the Twelve; 10. “Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness”.

Luke 4:18-19 (NIV)

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Prayer
of
Forgiveness

Forgiveness for me never came easy because I truly didn't understand the spiritual principles of walking in forgiveness and the importance in my walk with God. For years I held on to my hurts disappointments and pains never realizing I was blocking God moving in my life holding on to the offenses God couldn't help me because sin was in my heart. Jesus loved teaching the importance of forgiveness throughout the New Testament.

In Mark 11:25, jesus explains how to come to him in prayer;

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. ”

I desire God’s forgiveness and through God’s word I understood the importance of letting go and to forgive. The Lord gave me the analogy of the importance of getting your car serviced for it to run at full capacity. The function of the filters in a car is to enable air flow and catch impurities the dust and contaminants in the air. God doesn't want us to sin with our heart toward ourselves and others. Sin stops up the flow of Gods love within our heart. Unforgiveness can be like impurities flowing into our heart causing our relationship with God and others blocked.  It might take you several times to pray the prayers of forgiveness before you feel the hurt and pain leave. Start with a choice to forgive, then repent for holding a grudge in your heart toward others and knowing the importance of letting go.

healing begins when forgiveness starts.

Forgiveness Prayer

In the name of Jesus, I choose to forgive as I have been forgiven. I now choose to forgive _____________________. I release any right I have retained to bring revenge. I release them from my hands and place them in your hand, Jesus, my Just Judge. I break every curse I have sent to them and call forth a blessing to them instead. Thank you for the grace to forgive and the power to live in freedom.

Prayer
of
Protection

One of my favorite prayers to pray is praying Psalms 91 as a protection prayer over my family and the community I live in. For years I lived in the uncertainty of life always worrying about my family. I spend more time worrying than actually praying. It took several things to transpire in my life to know there has to be more. I didn't know what that more looked like but I knew it had to be more than what I was seeing. In prayer one night, I asked the Lord to show me what I was missing. The next morning I turned on the Christian broadcast channel and saw a lady evangelist named Joyce Meyers talking about her life before Christ. How she worried about everything thinking she had to fix everyone's problems and be the protector of everyone. She talked about the change in her life when she asked Jesus into her. For the first time she let go of her controlling ways trusting God with her whole life and trusting God as her protector. Joyce talked about how her life changed when she replaced worry and fear with the Word of God. The scripture I heard her teach that morning was about trusting God to be your protector. The scripture passage in Psalms 91 was the Psalms she meditated on and read daily over her family. She reference is as Protection Psalms. It was in that moment I knew God had given me my answer I decided as a mother I wanted to pray a prayer of protected over my family. As parents, we desire to give our children the very best to love and support them along the journey of life as they grow into successful men and women serving God in their life.

Psalms 91 became my lifeline throughout my life.

The Lord reminds me every day of the power of prayer and how it changes things. Would you join me today and pray Psalms 91 over your life and your families allow God's word ministry to your heart? You may wonder how do I started praying for my family. Let me give you an example by taking Psalm 91 and making it personal to you as you talk to God.

Prayer of Protection

Lord, I thank you for your word I can apply to my life and pray for my family. I come before you this morning knowing my Security and Trusts in the Lord. Lord, as I pray this Psalms read it back to you every time I read in the scriptures. He, I, my, or you I will replace it with my name and the names of others I am standing in prayer for as I pray Psalms 91.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
, will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand ] I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!” For he will save you from the trap of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.He will cover you and completely protect you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and a wall. You will not be afraid of the terror of night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
 nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side
 and ten thousand at your right hand,
 but danger will not come near you. You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyes and witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High]. Because you have made the Lord, [who is] my refuge,
even the most high, your dwelling place, no evil will befall you,
 nor will any plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels in regard to you,
 to protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. They will lift you up in their hands,
 so that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and cobra;
 the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. Because he set his love on me, therefore I will save him;
I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows my name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never]. He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him
 and I will let him see my salvation.” Amen Psalms 91 AMP

Prayer
of

 If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, simple pray the following prayer in faith, and receive Jesus as your Lord.

John 3:16-17 (KJV)

Acts 16:31 (KJV)

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

Romans 3:23 (KJV)

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glorly of God.

Romans 6:23 (KJV)

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

Salvation Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the Name of Jesus, Your Word says, "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved," and "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." I take You at Your Word. I confess that Jesus is the Lord. And I believe in my heart that you raised Him from the dead. Thank you for coming into my heart, for giving me your Holy Spirit as You have promised, and for being Lord over my life. Amen

If you have just prayed this prayer, every sin of your past has been washed away. Now walk in the newness of Jesus Christ; the steppingstone of your past has become your future. A new beginning in Christ.

Prayer
of
Thanksgiving

Father, in our hearts we can only see what’s in front of us now. We surrender to the call you have for us. We may like where we are now, but if it be Your will, we will move where you send us. We dedicate our lives into your hands, In Jesus Name. Father said, rest assured the plan going forth is sealed in My blood, it is moving forward, leave the details up to me.

Giving thanks is a vital part of the Prayer of Petitions.

God favors people who have an attitude of gratitude.

1 Peter 5: 5-6

“For God resisted the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves under
the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due seasons”.

Father, I am thankful you have made us into a new people. We are thankful we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for healing Joe and me, and our families. Thank you for giving us health, thank you for prospering Joe and me, and we desire to be at the center of your will for our lives. Father, we are so grateful for each other and our sons, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren, parents. I am so grateful Father you delivered us and our family from a life of failure and changed us into winners. We are grateful you allow us to serve your people in the District 67, and across the State of TN, sharing your gospel through the political arena. We are grateful you have blessed us in this mission field. We are grateful you have given us people who have confidence in us, and want to hear what we have to say. Father, we are grateful for the finances you give us to bless your people we serve.

Read Psalm 136

“Do not fret or any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite request), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants know to God”. Phil. 4:6 (AMP)
